Praise the
Lord! Let all that I am praise the
Lord. It had been announced and it was posted on the website, a "Single Sister's Appreciation Night" planned for Valentine's Day. I signed up for it thinking, "Sure, why not. It will be another great time for fun fellowship with my brothers and sisters." As a sister and I drove to the location, I noticed brothers up ahead, but they were not in their respective vehicles. It dawned on me, "Wow! They are parking our cars for us!" It was greatly appreciated because it was a very cold night that night. Well, the sister I was with was not as easily convinced, so she rolls down her window and asks, "Are you a brother?" It was classic, as she gingerly got out of her car and surrendered it to the brother. We were then escorted by handsomely suited brothers to our table, which was nicely set with white linen and flower in the center. There were many brothers there ready to serve us dinner. I received conflicting reports whether the meal was prepared and cooked by the brothers. Either way, it did not matter because it was a delicious and impressive banquet. Robin Weidner was our guest speaker so we were fed spiritually as well. As she shared about Gayle Dubowski and the life God intends for us, she encouraged us to live a pure life-"Pura vida!" There was then an auction of brothers offering their services in their areas of expertise. The highlights were two from our Ministry Center, KC and Tony. The demand for help with our computers and cars was so great. So many hands were raised for the bidding, making it fun, but rather difficult to see who won the bid. The entertainment was phenomenal from beginning to end. Many talented brothers gave themselves heart and soul through singing and dancing. As I shared with Wilner about this night, my brain took a good hour to catch up and process the whole thing. It was one huge date, beautifully planned and executed. The brothers really outdid themselves. Every single one of them gave from their heart. The sisters were so encouraged, felt so loved, so appreciated. We love you brothers and we thank you for reflecting God's glory in your servitude, creativity, talent, chivalry and most of all, love. Thank you! Anne Marie Buhay
