Ministry Centers
North Suburban The North Suburban Ministry Center of the Chicago Church of Christ is a multi-racial, family-oriented group of 200+ disciples in the North and Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our diversity is not only cultural but generational. We have many young families as well as those who have been seasoned by over 40 years of marriage! The North Suburban M.C. also has plenty of adventurous singles who are striving to build excitement, unity, and faithfulness in their ministry. One of the highlights of our family is our youth ministry. We have the second largest youth ministry in the Chicago Church. Many of our teens are in their freshman and sophomore years in high school. It is exciting to see how of them are deciding to study the Bible and make decisions to live their lives for God. Our young-teen ministry (7th and 8th graders) is also very large and dynamic. With the committed help of the parents and those devoted to helping the youth, this is a ministry that is truly preparing our kids to love God with all of their hearts. The North Suburban M.C. gathers weekly for both midweek services and for Sunday worship. The midweek services are taught within the many House Churches spread throughout the area. Due to the large geography of our ‘mission field' we believe meeting in small groups provides an opportunity for the intimate spiritual connection needed to spur one another on toward love and good deeds. One of our greatest strengths is the mature, dedicated leadership provided by the brothers and sisters who offer themselves in this leadership capacity. Sundays in the North are dynamic and worshipful. We are blessed to have so many who are willing to lead us in worship. We are led in praise by a gifted worship team of musicians and singers, have a growing audio/visual ministry and enjoy many personal testimonials. The focus of our worship time is truly on Christ and the blessing of being called into His family. We combine powerful biblical preaching with contemporary worship to encourage the disciples in their commitment to walk in the likeness of Jesus. In our efforts to "move on to maturity" and to strive for the vision God has placed on our hearts, we are continually inspired to utilize the talents and passions of the saints in the North. The North is blessed to have Mike Rawls and and Phil Lasarsky as our Elders, with Phil serving in a dual role as teacher, Ralph Beerhorst as our worship minister, and three evangelists, AT Arneson, Wilner Cornely and Dave Pocta, all working with one heart toward the building up of the disciples and the advancement of the gospel in this great ministry. Excitingly, along these lines, we have also launched a Chemical Recovery ministry that is dedicated to inspiring and encouraging those who struggle with addiction. All of this is to the edification of the saints and to the glory of God. We are encouraging the disciples to hold on to what they have already attained, to strive toward maturity, and to love each other and most importantly, God, with all of their hearts. We would love to have you visit and be a part of our family.
