Ruben and Barbara were married in 1991 and have served in the ministry since 1992. They moved to Chicago in 2017 and serve on the shepherding team for the Chicago Church. They lead the City Ministry as Evangelist and Women's Ministry Leader. Ruben is licensed as a Professional Marriage and Family Therapist (ALMFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Barbara has a heart for exceptional learners, such as those with ADD and dyslexia. She uses personal experience and her M.A. in Teaching from Johns Hopkins to help families build a stronger connection between their education and spiritual walk. The Marburys have three adult daughters who all live in Chicago.
