Midweek Services this Week

The Harris' sector and the City North Sector will have a combined midweek service at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at St. Andrew church, 7534 W. Berwyn Ave., in Chicago.  There will be a women's midweek for the Gauthiers' sector at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at the India Mission church, 1049 So. Euclid, in Oak Park.

Reminder:  Next Sunday, May 18, is Special Missions Day

On Sunday, May 18, the members of the Chicago Church of Christ will give our annual missions contribution to support mission work in Eurasia.  Please pray for this special offering and finalize your plans to give generously on that day.

Teen Prom

Today is the very last day for teens to sign up for the Chicago Church of Christ teen prom.  The event will be held this Saturday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park, and will be followed by an all-night after-party at Odyssey Fun World from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.  The cost is $80 per person, and includes the entire event:  dinner, dance, and the after-party.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Spanish-speaking Women's Prayer Time

There will be a time of prayer for the upcoming Spanish-language Women's Day.  The prayer time will be at 9 a.m., this Saturday, May 17, at the home of Patsy and Randy Harris, 1526 So. Wesley, in Berwyn.

Registration Continues for Spanish-Language Women's Day

It is time to register for the 2nd Annual Spanish-Language Women's Day.  It will be held Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Double Tree Hotel in Oak Brook .  The theme is "Mujer en Libertad" ("A Free Soul").  The cost is $35, and includes lunch.  Even if you do not speak Spanish, this is a great opportunity to invite your Spanish-speaking friends, neighbors and co-workers.  English translation will be provided.

Women's Retreat Registration Begins

Registration for the 8th annual Women's Retreat has begun.  This year's retreat will be held at The Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wis., the weekend of September 5-7.  The theme is, "Breathe."  To register, please stop by the registration table after services.  The Metro registration coordinator is Wendy Collins.

Chicago Church Hosts International Worship Conference

The Chicago Church of Christ is set to host the 2008 International Worship Ministry Conference, titled "Glorious."  The conference will be held at the UIC Forum from Friday, June 20, through Sunday, June 22.  Anyone involved or interested in the worship ministry of the church-such as songleaders, singers/choir members, musicians, drama, dance and technical teams-is invited to attend.  Registration is $65 per person, but increases to $75/person on June 1.  To register, please visit the website: www.gloriousconference.com.

Singles Conference Set for August

Single disciples from throughout the world will be heading to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area August 29 through August 31 for the International Singles Conference, hosted by the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Church of Christ.  The title of the conference is "Vision and Dreams."  For more information, or to register, please visit the website at www.isc-2008.com.  Deadline for registration is August 16.

International Apologetics Conference Coming to Chicago

The 2008 International Apologetics Conference will be held June 6-8 at Elmhurst College.  The event is being hosted by Apologetics Research Institute, an organization founded by Dr. John Oakes, a disciple in the San Diego Church of Christ and a chemistry professor at Grossmont College.  John will be joined by Douglas Jacoby, a teacher in the International Churches of Christ, along with scientists, scholars and theologians from around the world for this event.  It is open to anyone who is interested in using Christian evidences to build up their own faith or the faith of others.  Registration cost is $90 for students and $120 for everyone else.  For more information or to register, please visit www.evidenceforchrisitianity.org.
