This letter from the elders of the Chicago Church of Christ was distributed to all members of the church in conjunction with special financial presentations made during the summer of 2006.

To the members of the Chicago Church of Christ:

As elders of the Chicago Church of Christ, we are making every effort to continue to be careful to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord and men while meeting the needs of the flock. This year marks the twelfth year that the church has been audited by a certified public accounting firm. Not only do we wish to continue that practice, but we have published the audited financial statements on our website and are currently presenting the information throughout the church this summer. We ask you to carefully look through this publication and understand some of the financial aspects of the church that we are reporting to you. It is important to note that the church is becoming healthier in many ways, especially financially. As we maintain a cash reserve, we have many plans to strengthen the church and be about winning our world for Christ, which we will implement as our contribution allows. While we realize the financial statements are not the most important aspect of the church, it is very important to continue open dialogue and let everyone know the financial condition of the church.

In an effort to keep you informed about some of the other aspects of our church family, we want you to be aware of the following:

Staff: We currently have 46 people paid by the church. Thirty-eight are ministry staff and are focused in regional ministries or church wide ministries. We have five who are full time in administration and three that are part time. The average salary is $44,723.00. This average does not include any of the part-time workers in the church.

Weekly Contribution: Because of your continued sacrifice so far in 2006, we give an average of $73,663 per week, a little more than the budgeted amount of $72,700. This is very encouraging as we continue to support the work here to seek and save the lost.

Regional Ministries: We have eight different geographic regions in the church: Central, Chicago, DeKalb, Metro, North, Northwest, Southland and West. We have two focused campus ministries-one in the city of Chicago serving UIC, Columbia and many of the other city campuses, and the other is in DeKalb and serves Northern Illinois University.

We are working to bring honor to God in His church as we shepherd each member to love God, be completely unified and take the gospel to the lost throughout Northeastern Illinois and beyond. Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any questions regarding this information.
