WELCOME to the Chicago Church of Christ
Welcome to the Chicago Church of Christ! What began in 1982 with 30 devoted disciples of Jesus has grown into a congregation of 2,000 today. Back then our mission was to courageously lead people to full devotion to Christ—with the Bible as our guide. Today our mission remains the same. We are just as committed now to helping each other lead lives devoted to Jesus, and helping people from all backgrounds develop their spiritual lives.
Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we’re sure you’ll find our congregation welcoming, and our teaching inspiring and relevant to your life. Whether you’re interested in coming to one of our services, attending one of our special events or meeting with a small group of Christians in your community, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to meet you.
If you have questions not answered here please contact a member of our Welcome Committee (below) or a member of our ministry staff. If there is something we can personally help you with, feel free to contact us at any time.

HELPFUL HINTS for your visit
What are your services like?People describe our church services as worshipful, energetic and loving. Service typically lasts about 90 minutes and includes plenty of singing/worship, a reflective communion message and a life-guiding sermon. What should I wear? When you come to our service you will find people wearing everything from jeans to suits. Please wear what you feel comfortable worshipping God in. We believe you’ll feel completely welcome -- whether you’re casually dressed or in your “Sunday best.” What's expected of first-time visitors?Nothing! Rest assured we’re not going to ask you to raise your hand, stand up or come up front. You’re sure to meet warm, friendly people at our services, but you won’t be singled out. And don’t feel obligated to give to our weekly offering or participate in communion unless you want to. There are no expectations for you as a guest. Can I take communion?Again, there is no expectation that you participate in communion as a guest. However, if you want to take communion at our services, you are more than welcome to do so. |
What about my kids?We want to make sure that both children and adults enjoy an encouraging and inspiring time each Sunday. During worship services, we offer a Kingdom Kids program for infants through 6th graders, allowing parents to attend the worship service, while children enjoy an age-appropriate time of learning and fun. How do I become a member? We believe that the church is simply a body of believers who have become true disciples of Jesus. If you want to be a part of this body, the first step is to study the bible to find out what Jesus expects of His followers. To set up a personal bible study or to attend a group bible study in your neighborhood, contact a member of our Welcome Committee (below). |

Our MINISTRIES
What is a "Ministry Center"?A Ministry Center is your local church family of about 200-500 people that meets nearby on Sundays. Each of our seven Ministry Centers has its own staff, youth ministry and children's program. Several times per year all ministry centers meet together for a large congregational worship service. What is a "House Church"?House Church is what we call our small bible discussion groups that meet in homes several times per month. It is a great way to meet other Christians in your neighborhood! |
What Ministries Are Available? Our Life Ministries are designed to help you and your family grow with others in similar life situations. We have specialized ministries for pre-teens, teens, campus students, singles and those who speak Spanish. Married couples enjoy fellowship in their House Churches. Our Recovery Ministries are specially designed to help those battling addictions in their lives. |
