Our annual Special Missions Offering to support churches in Europe will be be collected in May.
Supporting missionary work has been a cornerstone of our Church since it was founded in 1982. Our support has included sending out nearly forty missionaries, hundreds of servants, and tens of millions of dollars to places all over the globe. For the past 15 years we have focused our missionary efforts on the geographic areas of Russia, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region. Our relationship with sister churches in the region goes beyond providing financial support as we have been able to sponsor a number of trips to provide ecclesiastical support to the leaders and members of the churches. We have also had numerous opportunities to welcome leaders of supported churches to Chicago for support and training.
Each spring our members give to our Annual Special Missions Contribution. Through hard work and sacrifice, millions of dollars have been raised to support missionary efforts. This money, along with financial gifts from other International Churches of Christ churches, is then given to the International Missions Society (IMS) for the express purpose of developing and maintaining Christian programs designed to facilitate spiritual and material support for member churches. For complete information, visit the International Missions Society website.
